The Finnish Association of Nurse Anesthetists – FANA

The Finnish Association of Nurse Anesthetists (FANA), known in Finnish as Suomen Anestesiasairaanhoitajat ry (SASH), is a nationwide professional association that unites nurse anesthetists across Finland. The association was founded to promote the quality of anesthesia nursing, advance education in the field, and strengthen the professional identity of nurse anesthetists.

Promoting the professional development and competence of nurse anesthetists
Advancing anesthesia nursing education in Finland
Supporting research and evidence-based practice in anesthesiology
Representing Finnish nurse anesthetists internationally, including through IFNA (International Federation of Nurse Anesthetists)
Publishing the Spirium journal, which covers current topics in anesthesia nursing

Activities

The association regularly organizes educational seminars, training days, and networking events for its members. Through active international collaboration, FANA ensures that Finnish nurse anesthetists stay up to date with the latest developments in the field.
